Open Position – Full Time Health Educator

Health Educator, Keystone Wellness Programs – covering Beaver and Butler Counties.

Are you a high energy, creative thinking, culturally competent team player who can help us manage, design, and deliver quality health education programs on behalf of our funding sponsors? We have work to do, and we need one more quality individual to complete our team.

We are looking for an Experienced Health Educator for our growing health promotion agency. You will need a Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, education, or related field. A Master’s degree in human service, education, or similar field would be a plus. Strong, demonstrated experience in public speaking, classroom management, project management and coalition building are important to us. You should have knowledge of current public health concerns, or be able to quickly learn about topics such as nicotine addiction and substance use disorders, HIV and Hepatitis C prevention, the opioid crisis, and other behavioral health concerns. We are looking for working familiarity with other human service agencies, schools, and faith based groups in Butler and Beaver counties.

In working with our team of Health Educators, the responsibilities you can expect consist of maintaining knowledge of current public health concerns and public policy as part of public health. This will include educational visits to legislators, assisting worksites and multi-unit housing sites with tobacco policies, developing, marketing, and presenting behavioral health programs and services to audiences of varied ages and socioeconomic status. You will work with our team to develop and lead coalitions, plan programming, complete regular and timely reporting, and other duties as needed.

The skills needed to be successful at this position are excellent public speaking on health topics, strong project and deadline management, quick thinking and problem solving, collaboration with stakeholders, strong Microsoft Office and Google for Nonprofit knowledge, A/V equipment familiarity, communication with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds, regular local travel, occasional overnight travel (once a year or less). Other requirements: Valid PA driver’s license, reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed), proof of vehicle insurance, negative pre-employment drug screen, and successful completion of required criminal background checks including PA and FBI fingerprint clearances. Occasional evening, early morning and weekend hours might be needed plus ability to lift 25+ pounds of program materials.
